After receiving report yesterday morning, I went round to check on my patients...and found this little girl with poo overflowing from her diaper. And I was thinking, "Aww man, did you have to do this? On your beautiful dress somemore!"
So I got down to cleaning her up and when I opened her diaper, I was surprised...so I called my collleague to come and see. She came over and she was like, "Ohhh!!! Wow, this is really good!", in a rather high pitch voice and volume, and that invited the other nurses (who were dispensing medication at my cubicle) to come over to have a look.
"Oh my goodness!! Woooowwwww!"
"Oh this is gooood! I'm so proud of her!"
"This is REAL poo!!!"
"We must keep the diaper and show it to Prof!"
And the diaper we kept till Prof (the surgical consultant) came for the morning rounds. I can tell you that she was really happy. Haha...
Hehe, I was kinda amused by the whole thing...where on earth do you see people getting so psyched over someone's shit? But then again, I think that's because this is a different case.
For you see, this baby had always been having diarrhea for the most of her life (she's only one year and two weeks old, she's never been home yet). As in, really watery shit...serious.
We're rather excited...or rather, I'm rather excited to see her go home. I'm sure the others are also. Now that she's off the Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN - which goes straight to her blood stream) and she's feeding totally on milk.
Man...I don't know what it is, but it has been more than three years now and I still hear sermons from two different churches being preached on the same Scripture verses.
Gosh, it's like........I don't know!!!
It's either both my churches in S'pore and in Kluang pakat on the same portion of Scripture, or God has something very important to say. I have a feeling it's the latter, but I still can't tell what it is...
First, it was the series on the book of Joshua...and then the series on "the old has gone, the new has come", and then the one on the fruit of the Spirit, and then on 1st Corinthians 13 on love, and then just last week, on Jesus being the good Shepherd (there were some others in between which I can't recall now, it's been over a span of more than three years).
Yes, I'm home in Kluang...this is heavenly. It's been a long time since our whole family got together at the same time. Usually one of us would be in S'pore so it doesn't make our family gathering complete. But this weekend...it's just good. =)
