Aging
I think elderly people are rather cute...

There was this elderly lady who had come to visit her husband today...it was around 8.00am, and usually we nurses make patients' beds at that hour. So she, being the loving and helpful wife that she is, sat her husband out of bed and started making his bed. She piled his three pillows onto his lap, stripped the blanket off the bed and added it to the pile...you should have seen the uncle's face lah! He was like, peeking over the edge of the huge pile on his lap. I was laughing...okie, I'm pretty sure you don't really get what I mean. It's alright. But you should have been there!

Later during the day, two elderly lady were going for physiotherapy...one was supposed to walk, the other in a wheelchair. To kill two birds with one stone, the physiotherapist made the one who was walking, push the wheelchair with the other lady on it. They looked so sweet! =) I don't know how to tell you what the feeling's like, seeing them like that...

I like elderly people. Haha...you know, when people get old, they become more like children again...despite the wrinkles and deep lines on their foreheads.

But I heard this young lady today; she had come to visit her father and it was lunch time. She talked to him like he was a kindergarten kid!! Gosh...things like, "Wah, very good, you finished your food! So clever ar..." and "Nice or not the food? No ar? Then you finished it still?" And she was speaking in Hokkien, so can you just imagine...in THAT tone some more. Man...I cannot see myself talking to my parents like that next time! I will not!!

I miss you...you...you, and...you.

Guess what I'll remember from my poly years?

Gursheran Kaur. GK. Haha... =P She is really funny...and her
laughter is so contagious. I'll remember her as one
strong woman, who'll die-die defend you.
Oh, and she'd fight for all women
around the world. =P

Sangeetha Sarma. Gee-la. Sititha. G'****** (secret).
Heehee. She's the blur-est person I've
ever met. She cracks the funniest jokes when
it's really late in the night...oh,
and if you think I'm slow at catching jokes,
wait till you've met her. You'll definitely change
your mind. Seriously...

Yong Chin Fang. Fong Fong. Melena Yong!
Oh, wait...Mary!!! Hahahaha... =D One of the most
friendly and helpful people around. Did
you know that she got proposed
at IMH?? Yeah man... =P It was funny, hehe.

Muhammad Zulhilmi. Sigh...no nicknames for him.
I'll always remember him as this funny
guy (what we'd call "clown" in Kluang...so you should
get what I mean =P). If you catch his jokes,
they are darn funny. He makes me laugh, even when
life's far from funny. And he writes
beautiful poems, I tell you. =)
I'll remember this young lady as one who
was so lost when she started the course. She was even
unsure if she had done the right thing. But she
does not regret her three years in poly for she has
learnt much about life, and much more
about herself...the experiences are irreplaceable.
Sure, she had her ups and downs...no one ever said life
would be easy. But God had it all planned out.
He placed great friends along her
way...friends who now have become like
great treasures. And above all,
He has shown Himself to be most faithful.

If Only I Could...
To a dear friend:

Things will be alright...although you feel like nothing's right and everything's gone the wrong way. I feel for you. I cannot change the way things have worked out...I would, if I could. But like you always say, "The magic word is 'if'..."

I would make the skies blue-er for you, if I could...
I would make the seas clearer for you, if I could...
I would make the fields greener for you, if I could...
I would make the future look brighter for you, if I could...
But I cannot.

I can only tell you that I will be here.

I know you are strong enough. So with your head held high, do whatever you need to do; I'm praying that you'll fine new strength and hope to carry on...and I will be there to walk with you when you're ready to face the world again. =)

Sincerely,
Me

Low Probability, High Probability
The Premack Principle...

...existed before even you and I were born.
Before Bill Clinton became President.
Before McDonald's existed.
You see...it's "Pre-Mac".

HAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHH!!!!!!!

Okie, sorry...inside joke. =D Lame...but still, I laughed.
Gosh, there was another joke as well...but no one would understand lah. It was just so funny. Hehe...pardon me, I'm entertaining myself.

One paper done today...yay!

What's there to life if not for You?
When it's all been said and done
There is just one thing that matters
Did I do my best to live for truth?
Did I live my life for You?

When it's all been said and done
All my treasures will mean nothing
Only what I've done for love's rewards
Will stand the test of time

Lord, Your mercy is so great
That You look beyond our weakness
And find purest gold in miry clay
Making sinners into saints

I will always sing Your praise
Here on earth and ever after
For You've shown me Heaven's my true home
When it's all been said and done

You're my life when life is gone...

Okie...I have been busy. Busy STUDYING. And...STUDYING. So busy studying that I woke up at 6.00am this morning and the name Talcott Parsons came to mind immediately...but, BUT!!! Unfortunately for me, I forgot from which book his name came from...till I checked him out. Heeheehee...oh gosh.

I need to study more...already I'm clocking three to four hours a day. And I'm actually NOT complaining. Even I am amazed at myself! It must be the "last semester" syndrome...tell me I'm turning kiasu... =P

Apart from that...well, last Friday was officially my last day of classes. It was pretty emo for me personally. Will talk more about it another day...

Oh and guess what, guess what?!! Tien Li told me about this Singapore Youth for Christ 50th anniversary thingy in August, and they are looking for dancers and I got excited and tada! I have a DANCE AUDITION on Friday. Actually, I'm still a little unsure of going for it. I have no idea how auditions work...maaaaaaannn...and I HAVE NOT DANCED IN AGES!!

Well, what d'you know...
I witnessed something really appalling just yesterday...I was at a friend's birthday party and after eating, a group of us were in a room playing card games. Then this lady with her child of about one year-old walked in...her child needed a change of diaper.

So well, we made way for her and she laid her child on the bed...my friend's sister happened to be there as well, attending to her own child, and she asked the lady if she had extra diaper. The lady said no...so my friend's sister gave her one. Then she asked if the lady knew how to clean her child and change diapers...her shocking answer? "No".

My eyes suddenly grew wider...I was sitting there on the bed next to the baby, and I couldn't believe that her VERY OWN MOTHER couldn't clean her up nor put the diapers on for her. I mean...where were you in the past one year, woman??? This is your own child and you don't even know how to care for her basic needs.....

Apparently, the lady's mother has been doing it all this while...gosh...why then have the child when she knew she wouldn't be able to handle? And why didn't she bother learning the basic task of taking care of her child when she knew she was going to have it? I honestly don't get it...it's as simple as making the TIME and EFFORT.

I do think that
people these days are so into themselves...they care less about what goes on around them. Or rather, they choose not to care at all. But having said that, well...maybe the lady has a valid reason. Only God knows...

The Lees vs. The Tangs
These are some of my favourite people in Kluang. =) Well, there's basically only two families here lah...hehe. And of course, The Tangs rule...five against four. Girl power, okie... =P

To Isaac, Paulus, Joy, and Joan: You have been a blessing, each and everyone of you. Love you all! =)
